This August in Malibu the Supreme Court did not accept the appeal of a ruling that said Malibu was not allowed to limit chain stores or other development projects to be put to a vote for the general public. Now that they have issued a refusal of the appeal, business leaders in Malibu expect an easier road to develop new projects within the city. The ruling, Measure R, would have prohibited much of the development, but was ruled invalid initially in December of 2015. The ruling has withstood two separate appeals
